If an organization is determined to be in compliance, a certificate is issued recognizing that the company supports the growth of responsible forest management. The chain-of-custody is carefully tracked to ensure that GREEN (certified) materials are not mixed with those that are not certified,

guaranteeing that the end consumer receives products that originated from certified, well-managed forests and forestry operations.

Thermally modified wood

The benefits of Thermally Treating wood have been known to humans for millennia. Vikings would heat wood to preserve it when building ships, and the Japanese pioneered preserving wood with Shou Sugi Ban. Even then, it was known that Thermal Modification gave wood superior resistance to insects sunlight and weather. Now – with modern technology – we are able to fine tune the Thermal Modification process by engineering the perfect combination of heat, steam and pressure to produce woods that offer five-times the lifespan of pressure-treated and unmodified woods!
