SteamWorld Tower Defense

Image & Form may be better known for the more well-known games in its SteamWorld series, like SteamWorld Dig 1 and 2, but this cute little tower defense game for DSiWare was the first game in the series.

Through the game, players took on the role of a sheriff who had to defend his town’s gold mines from an invasion. Using the touch buttons on the Nintendo DS’s bottom screen, they put different robot guns and other things, like bombs and full-on nukes, along the paths that lead to the mines.

Sanctum 2

The first-person shooter and tower defense game Sanctum 2 was made by Coffee Stain Studios. The game came out in 2013 for PC, PS3, and Xbox 360. It’s set in the future and follows a group of people called Core Guardians.

The game takes place on a strange world, and players must protect their oxygen-making Cores from native species that are trying to destroy them. Once players have built towers and other defenses, they can switch to a first-person view and help defend their base.

OTTTD (Over The Top Tower Defense)

Fans of tower defense games should also check out OTTTD, which stands for “Over The Top Tower Defense.” The game was made by SMG Studios, the same company that made Death Squared. It takes place in the year 2317, after an alien attack because a gap was opened by accident. Besides setting up weapons around your base, you’ll also be able to handle individual party members, such as an engineer who can help your defenders.

Indeed, as the name suggests, things can get a little crazy, especially as the game goes on and gets harder. You can play through older rounds again and again until you get enough points to level up your party members. This makes the task a little easier to handle.

Defense Grid: The Awakening

The tower defense game Defense Grid: The Awakening is really good. The game still looks great and plays really well, even though it’s pretty old. There is a different plan needed for each map, and the game is mostly about placing towers and managing resources to protect your core from waves of aliens.

You can pick from more than 100 towers in eight different Legions. So you’ll have to be ready for anything if you want to beat your opponent.

Legion TD 2 is mostly a multiplayer game, and fights happen in 2v2 or 4v4 teams. During each wave, you can send minions to the other team to make parts of the waves that they have to take down or risk losing their king. Legion TD 2 is a great choice if you want a strong tower defense game with a lot of different levels.

Bloons TD 6

Bloons Tower Defense 6 is the best game in the series so far. It has more monkeys, new heroes, dozens of maps, and tasks to finish. Bloons TD 6 is the best Bloons game ever, with more content than any other game in the series and more content being added all the time.

In this game, too, players try to stop a bunch of balloons from getting to the end of a road. This can only be done with the help of several types of towers and monkeys that can carry weapons.
