  • The following nonprescription or herbal products may interact with oxycodone: St. John’s wort and tryptophan. Do not start these medications while taking oxycodone without discussing it with your healthcare provider.

 

  • Tell your doctor if you have or have ever had any of the conditions mentioned in the IMPORTANT WARNING section, a blockage or narrowing of your stomach or intestines, or paralytic ileus (a condition in which digested food does not move through the intestines). Your doctor may tell you not to take oxycodone.

 

  • Tell your doctor if you are breastfeeding. You should not breastfeed while you are taking oxycodone. Oxycodone can cause shallow breathing, difficulty or noisy breathing, confusion, more than usual sleepiness, trouble breastfeeding, or limpness in breastfed infants.

One of the most concerning risks associated with the Roxicodone use is the potential for addiction and dependence.In addition to addiction, oxycodone use carries a significant risk of overdose, which can result in respiratory depression,coma and death. The risk of overdose is particularly high when roxicodone is misused, such as when it is taken in higher doses than prescribed or combined with other central nervous system depressants like benzodiazepines or alcohol.

Overdose :

If some take overdoses and need help with serious symptoms such as passing out or a problem breathing, give them Naloxone if available. If the person is awake and with no symptoms, call a poison control centre right away at 1-800-222-1222. These are Symptoms of overdose: facing problems during breathing, bradycardia, skeletal muscle flaccidity, stupor, clammy skin, constricted pupils, hypotension, slow heartbeat, and coma.

Roxicodone medicine is specially ordered for your current condition only. Don’t use it later in another situation unless said by your doctor. In such a case, alternate medications may be needed.

If naloxone is not available to treat opioid overdose then talk with your doctor or pharmacist. Tell the lessons to your family members about the indications of a sedative overdose. Make sure you take one dose of this medicine at a single time.
