DUVET TOGS BUYING GUIDELINE READY BEFOR BUYING ONLINE
At Imperial Rooms, we make quality products to improve your well-being and comfort. Because the quality of your nights depends on the choice of bedding, we provide you with this guide to help you choose the ideal duvet according to your needs.
What size duvet should I choose for my bed?
In order to prevent air from entering your bed when lying down, your duvet should extend between 20 and 40 cm on each side of the bed. This recommendation is important to ensure better comfort if you tend to move a lot during the night or if you share your bed with your partner.
The dimensions of our duvets are 135 x 200 cm, 200 x 200 cm, 230 x 220 cm and 260 x 220 cm.

What is Tog?
For its duvets, Imperial Rooms uses the Tog; an English measurement unit measuring textiles’ thermal insulation. For the duvet, this value is based on its ability to capture heat and distribute it evenly. The higher the tog value, the warmer the duvet will be. Choose the Tog that suits you according to your room’s season or temperature.

There are two types of filling. Synthetic filling and natural filling. Choosing the right filling for your tog duvet is important so that you are neither too hot nor too cold.

Natural fillings are recognized for their high insulating power and ability to regulate heat during sleep. Imperial Rooms offers duck or goose down and feather fillings. In addition to having a longer lifespan than synthetic filling duvets, this filling provides excellent warmth, comfort and exceptional swelling while bringing a pleasant freshness during summer.

Synthetic microfiber or polyester filling
Synthetic filling duvets are lighter and easier to maintain and represent an alternative to natural filling duvets for people with allergies and asthma. Synthetic duvets perfectly imitate natural duvets in terms of warmth and comfort but have a lower lifespan.
4 season duvets
The 4-season duvet consists of two duvets: a light duvet for summer and a temperate duvet for spring or autumn. The two duvets together form a warm duvet for the winter and can be used throughout the year, depending on the room’s season or temperature.
Caring for my duvet
Wash your duvet at least once a year. For down and feather duvets, we recommend you not wash them yourself. With poor drying, your duvet risks giving off an unpleasant odour and seeing mould formation. Opt for professional cleaning instead. For synthetic duvets, you can opt for a professional wash or wash it yourself if the capacity of your washing machine allows it. I prefer a moderate spin. Tip: a tennis ball helps to preserve the fluffiness of your duvet.
