Aromatic and invigorating coffee is one of the most popular drinks all over the world. Some people can’t imagine a day without a cup of espresso, while others indulge themselves with latte with syrup on weekends. One thing remains constant: coffee.
Today, the range of most coffee shops is not limited to a couple of items. Caramel mocha, latte with chocolate, Irish coffee have long been commonplace, and their absence from the menu is now considered bad form.
These drinks can be easily prepared at home. We offer several interesting variations of the most popular coffee drinks.
1: Espresso with spices
Espresso is the strongest and most invigorating coffee that exists on the planet. Most other coffee drinks are prepared on its basis. Therefore, it is definitely worth mastering the technique of making classic espresso.
And if you want to make espresso even more delicious, try adding spices. Interesting taste is guaranteed.
Ingredients:
- Ground coffee7 g
- Water30 ml
- Ground nutmegpinch
- Ground anisepinch
- Ground gingerpinch
- Liquid transparent metalto taste
Method of preparation:
- Espresso can be prepared either in a coffee machine (there is a special program for this) or independently. Pour finely ground coffee beans into a Turk and add 30 milliliters of cold water. Cook over medium heat until foam appears, but do not boil under any circumstances.
- If you decide to make coffee with spices, then some time before the foam begins to rise, add spices and honey and mix well.
- Continue brewing espresso until foam rises.
- Pour into coffee cups and serve.
2: Americano with honey
As the name suggests, this drink was very popular in North America. Today, Americano is drunk all over the world. It is less strong and concentrated than espresso, but it is just as effective in invigorating.
Ingredients:
- Coffee beans7-9 g
- Hot water15 ml
- Liquid honey1 tsp.
- Lemon1 slice
- Sugarpinch
- Egg yolk1 pc.
Method of preparation:
- We brew Americano. To do this, you should prepare a classic espresso (as in the first recipe). For 7-9 grams of coffee beans, you will need 30 milliliters of water. After the espresso is ready, add another 125 milliliters of hot water to the drink.
- The egg yolk must be ground with sugar until the mixture turns white. Add honey and grind thoroughly again.
- Place 2 teaspoons of egg-honey cream in a cup. Pour in the Americano in a thin stream, stirring constantly.
- Add a wedge of lemon and serve.
3: Cappuccino “Blanco”
Cappuccino is probably the most common coffee drink. It tastes quite delicate and soft and somewhat neutral. This means that almost everyone likes it, with rare exceptions.
Ingredients:
- Natural coffee56 g
- Milk1/2 cup
- Vanilla pod1 pc.
- Sugar1 tsp
- Cinnamonto taste
- Water240 m
Method of preparation:
- Heat the milk in a small container. After a while, add the vanilla crumbs and, continuing to heat, bring the milk to a boil. Cool and let it sit for a few minutes under the lid.
- Add sugar and boil again. Cool quickly, then strain and separate the remaining vanilla.
- Beat the drink with a blender until a solid, firm foam forms.
- Prepare espresso as in the first recipe. Pour into glasses half full. Add milk foam to the brim.
- Garnish with a cinnamon stick before serving.
4: White Chocolate Latte
White chocolate latte is a recipe that will appeal to all lovers of sweets. Here is such a simple way to sweeten your life. With white chocolate, the latte is even tastier and more interesting.
Ingredients:
- Ground coffee2.5 tbsp.
- Water320 ml
- Milk700 ml
- White chocolate120 g
Method of preparation:
- Pour the coffee into a French press and add hot water. Cover with a lid and leave to brew for 3-4 minutes.
- Pour the milk into a saucepan and place over medium heat. Bring to a boil and add the chopped chocolate. Stir for 2 minutes until the chocolate melts. Then beat until thick foam forms and remove from heat.
- Pour the coffee into tall glasses. Spoon the milk foam on top and pour in a small amount of milk itself. Serve immediately.
5: Egg yolk glace with vanilla ice cream
Glacé is coffee with ice cream added. This coffee by definition cannot be not tasty. And if you add egg yolk to the list of ingredients, it will be almost impossible to tear yourself away from the glacé.
Ingredients:
- Ground coffee3 tsp.
- Cocoa1/2 tsp.
- Egg yolk1 pc.
- Sugar2 tsp.
- Vanilla ice cream50 g
- Water150 ml
Method of preparation:
- Pour coffee, cocoa and 1 teaspoon of sugar into a Turk. Pour 150 milliliters of cold water and put on low heat.
- Meanwhile, thoroughly grind the egg yolk with 1 teaspoon of sugar.
- When the coffee starts to boil, remove the Turk from the heat and after half a minute put it back on the heat. Repeat this 3 times. Then remove the coffee from the stove.
- Carefully pour the brewed coffee through a sieve into the egg-sugar mixture. Stir constantly so that the yolk does not set.
- Pour the coffee into a glass. Top with a scoop of vanilla ice cream. Sprinkle with cinnamon or cocoa if desired. Serve immediately.
6: Caramel Macchiato
Caramel macchiato is one of the top and most purchased drinks of the Starbucks coffee chain. Try to make it at home. The recipe is not so complicated and even beginners who have just embarked on the coffee path can handle it.
Ingredients:
- Milk3/4 cup
- Ground coffee4 tbsp.
- Water1 glass
- Vanilla syrup20 g
- Caramel syrupto taste
Method of preparation:
- Pour milk into the Turk and bring almost to a boil (the temperature should be 70 degrees).
- Fill the head of a regular geyser coffee maker with coffee beans using a tamper. Fix it in the desired position. Add vanilla syrup on top.
- Pour in the heated milk almost to the end and froth well until foam forms.
- Pour coffee into cups. Drizzle caramel syrup over the foam.
7: Coffee with Viennese brandy
Viennese coffee is a fairly popular drink. To make it even tastier, just add not only whipped cream, but also chocolate syrup and grated almonds.
Ingredients:
- Dark chocolate120 g
- Cream1/4 cup
- The coffee is strong3 glasses
- Whipped creamto taste
- Chocolate syrupto taste
- Grated indalto taste
Method of preparation:
- In a bowl, mix dark chocolate and cream. Place in a water bath. Melt, stirring, until smooth.
- Add strong coffee (espresso or americano). Mix well.
- Pour into cups and garnish with whipped cream, chocolate syrup and grated almonds to taste.
8: Irish coffee with two types of chocolate
This recipe includes whiskey, making it a great choice for weekend get-togethers with friends.

- For white chocolate:
- White chocolate90 g

- Milk125 ml
- Whiskey10 ml
- For dark chocolate:
- Dark chocolate70 g
- Cream 20%25 ml
- Milk125 ml

- For foam:
- Instant coffee5 g
- Cream 25-30%150 ml

Method of preparation:
- Break white chocolate into pieces. Pour in milk and cream. Heat over low heat until chocolate is completely dissolved. Let cool, add whiskey and stir well.
- Prepare dark chocolate using the same method.
- Whip the cream with the coffee until thick foam forms.
- Pour the white chocolate into the glasses first, then the milk chocolate, and put a layer of foam on top.
- Before serving, sprinkle with cocoa powder and garnish with coffee beans.
9: Mocha with vanilla
Mocha or mochaccino, like the classic latte, is made from espresso and hot milk. However, mocha has a more pronounced chocolate flavor. Add vanilla to mocha and enjoy an exquisite drink.

Method of preparation:
- Heat sugar, cocoa powder and ground coffee in a Turk. Add water and brew coffee.
- Pour the coffee into a small saucepan. Gradually pour in the milk and continue heating over medium heat until the drink has a uniform consistency.
- Add vanilla and, if desired, garnish with whipped cream. Sprinkle with a pinch of cocoa powder.
10: Frappe
Frappe, or cold coffee, is an absolute hit of the summer season. If earlier it was prepared only in rare and selected places, today frappe can be found on the menu of almost every coffee shop. And it is even better to prepare frappe in your kitchen on a hot summer day.
Ingredients:
- Ready-made black strong coffee150 ml
- Milk150 ml
- Sugar1.5 tbsp.
- Ice350 ml
- Vanilla syrup3 tbsp
Method of preparation:
- Pour cold coffee of your choice into a blender (Americano or cappuccino are great, depending on whether you like your coffee stronger or smoother). Add milk, sugar, syrup and ice. Blend the ingredients for 1 minute.
- Add more ice before serving.
