Lokix

Its Bug and Dark typing is pretty unique, and it comes with some pretty good starting stats. Lokix can hit harder and faster than most other two-stage Pokemon thanks to its great 102 Attack and good 92 Speed. Even better, as you level up, it can use strong STAB moves like Throat Chop, Sucker Punch, and First Impression.

Besides these great choices, Lokix also has a good set of covering moves like Bounce and Axe Kick that can surprise Fighting or Rock-types. If you’re only interested in how Lokix looks, it still has what you need; it has a nice shiny color swap that makes most of its body green while keeping the bright orange and white parts.

Scolipede

Scolipede, which came out in Generation Five, is a powerful fighter with a good mix of types. This Bug and Poison-type Pokemon has a great Speed number of 112 that lets it quickly sweep slower Pokemon. It also has an Attack stat that stands out. In Generation Six, this stat was raised, which makes it even more useful.

It can hit hard because it has 100 base Attack and great Speed. It can hit even harder with Swords Dance. It also lets you use Poison Jab, Earthquake, and the Hidden Ability Speed Boost, which are all common moves in professional games. Because it only has 60 base HP, it is a bit weak, so go on the attack before your opponent attacks you and stay out of priority moves.

Galvantula

Galvantula is a strong and flexible option that makes good use of the fact that it can type both Electric and Bug. The unique dual typing gets rid of both Electric’s only weakness, which is Ground, and Bug’s weakness to Flying-types. Galvantula has good numbers, especially 108 Speed and 97 Special Attack, which go well with its type.

Galvantula’s great speed lets it fly past almost everything it faces, and its first moves often decide the outcome of the fight. Its high Special Attack number makes sure that moves like Electroweb, Bug Buzz, and Thunderbolt will hit hard. Galvantual can work as long as it has access to speed control through Sticky Web. Thunder and other moves that make use of Compound Eyes become much more effective and dangerous.

Frosmoth

Many people find Frosmoth to be one of the most interesting new Bug-type Pokemon because of its Ice Scales Hidden Ability. This skill cuts in half any damage from Special Attacks, which makes it very good at blocking them. Because it has 90 Special Defense and this skill, this snow-themed moth can stay alive longer than you might think.

It has very high Special Defenses and a base Special Attack of 125, which lets it use Ice Beam, Bug Buzz, or Hurricane, a great covering move, to take advantage of enemy flaws. As an Ice/Bug type, Frosmoth is more than the sum of its parts. Its Quiver Dance helps it get through teams quickly after a single boost.

Rabsca

Rabsca was one of only two new Pokemon in Scarlet and Violet that could use Revival Blessing, so it was used right away in professional games. Revival Blessing is one of the best new moves this generation. It lets you bring back a friend who has passed out with half of their health.

Rabsca isn’t just a one-trick Bug-type, though. Its base Special Defense and Defense stats of 100 and 85, along with its good 75 HP number, mean it can take a few hits.

Rabsca is surprisingly good at staying alive, and it can also go on the attack thanks to its great 115 Special Attack stat, which puts it among the best Bug-type fighters. Because it is a unique dual-type, it can use either Bug Buzz or Psychic to get a strong STAB bonus.

Yanmega

Yanmega doesn’t have a Mega Evolution, even though it has that name. If it did, it would have a good case for being the best Bug-type ever. No matter what, this Bug/Flying type that looks like a dragonfly is a great addition to many teams. With 116 Special Attack and 95 Speed, Yanmega is one of the fastest and strongest Bug-types you can find.

Even though Yanmega is four times weaker to Rock types (and Stealth Rock), it shines because it has great stats and a wide range of moves. Like Scolipede, Yanmega gets a lot out of the Speed Boost Ability, which makes it very fast and deadly. For added surprise, it can use Tinted Lens, which turns “not very effective” moves into ones that do normal damage to the enemy.

Accelgor

Accelgor is the perfect speed demon because its ability, Unburden, can double its already-huge base speed of 145. It will be hard to find opponents faster than Accelgor no matter what, but if you do find one, using a consumable held item (like Focus Sash or Heavy-Duty Boots) will activate Unburden, making it clear which Pokemon is faster.

You’ll need to be smart about which moves you use because its Special Attack is good but not great. The most powerful moves it has are Sludge Bomb, Energy Ball, Water Shuriken, and Giga Drain. Giving Accelgor an item like Choice Specs might give it the extra power it needs to kill its opponent.

Ninjask

Ninjask is one of the fastest non-legendary Pokemon in the whole series. This may come as a surprise to some. Ninjask will almost always move first because his base Speed number of 160 is so high compared to how stats are usually distributed. It also has the ability Speed Boost, which makes it faster every turn. However, Infiltrator might be a better choice for an ability.

You can use Ninjask as a support Pokemon by passing on its great Speed boosts and possible Swords Dances to a much stronger party member with Baton Pass if you decide to go with Speed Boost.

Pinsir

It’s easy to remember when you were younger because Pinsir is one of the first terrible bugs. Pinsir can even use a lot of Fighting-type moves, which makes it a great defender with a lot of great covering choices. Since it is only Bug, it won’t have any of Fighting’s flaws. This makes it a sneaky choice for teams that need a defender that can cover Fighting types.

Pinsir is a great cleaner, especially after a Swords Dance, thanks to its strong 85 Speed and amazing 125 Attack. Additionally, Pinsir got a Mega Evolution, which made it much more useful. Mega Pinsir moves very quickly and has an amazing Attack number of 155. This means it will hit hard and kill anything in its way before an enemy can even see it coming.

Heracross

It’s really tough to decide between Heracross and Pinsir because they’re both great in a lot of ways. People often think of them as a pair because their moves, uses, and forms are a lot alike. They even fight in the anime, which adds to their long past together. To be fair, Heracross is a little better at offense than Pinsir, which gives it an edge.

With moves of the Fighting type, Heracross gets the extra STAB. This is a good thing, but it makes it twice as weak to Flying-type Pokemon, while Pinsir is only slightly weak to them. Megahorn, on the other hand, is one of the best Bug-type moves that Heracross can use. Its Mega Evolution is also a little better than Mega Pinsir’s. It has an unbeatable 185 Attack score that makes it stand out. Heracross can now Terastallize, which makes up for its huge Flying-type weakness, even when it’s not in Mega form.

Genesect

As the only legendary or mythical Bug-type Pokemon, Genesect lives up to its name by being a strong fighter that can change its move types with certain things. The Attack and Special Attack stats for Genesect are both very high at 120. Its Defense and Special Defense stats stay the same at 95.

Techno Blast, Genesect’s signature move, changes types depending on what “Drive” item it is holding. This is useful in many situations. As a Bug and Steel-type, Genesect only has one weakness: fire. However, it is a deadly quadruple weakness that used to make it hard for it to beat certain Pokemon before Terastallization. Genesect is also a great-looking Pokemon because it is based on a Pokemon that lived 300 million years ago. Many people think this Pokemon is Kabutops.

Golisopod

This scary-looking Pokemon from a long time ago doesn’t just look scary; it also has terrible power. The stats that make up its 530 Base Stat Total (BST) are 125 Attack, 140 Defense, and 90 Special Defense. This makes it an incredibly tanky fighter.

You’ll have to find the right times to bring it to the fight safely, though, since its Speed is only 40. The Golisopod can knock out a lot of Pokemon with just one hit thanks to its First Impression, Waterfall, Sucker Punch, and Close Combat moves. Its power, Emergency Exit, lets it leave fight on its own when its health drops below half.

Volcarona

Larvesta is one of the Pokemon that evolves the fastest. When it hits Level 59, it will finally turn into a Volcarona. But the work is worth it because Volcarona is a very strong Pokemon with a lot to give, such as 135 Special Attack, 105 Special Defense, and 100 Speed.

In battle, Fire and Bug are very weak against Rock. However, Volcarona is faster than Rock-type Pokémon and can Terastallize into a type that can resist it, like Ground-type. Both Fiery Dance and Quiver Dance are great moves that make Volcarona stronger. Fiery Dance does damage and has a 50% chance of making Special Attack stronger. Many enemies will find it hard to protect themselves from this moth’s huge power.

Scizor

Think about how great Scizor is as a Pokemon by remembering that Scyther, its ancestor, was already thought to be one of the best Pokemon before Scizor came along. Even though Scizor’s 130 Attack, 100 Defense, and 80 Special Defense are already very good, it has a Mega Evolution that raises those numbers to 150, 140, and 100, respectively.

Some of Scizor’s best moves are U-Turn, Roost, Bullet Punch, and Knock Off. These moves are made even better by its very high stats and Technician ability, which makes weaker moves stronger. A lot of Pokemon find Scizor very scary, and it is without a doubt one of the best Bug-type Pokemon out there.

Slither Wing

This Paradox Pokemon is very strong and goes above and beyond what Bug types can do. It’s a great choice for competitive play. Volcarona’s “future” Iron Moth gives up being a Bug-type Pokémon, but Slither Wing is proud to be a Bug-type Pokémon.

With a Physical Attack of 135, Slither Wing has a great one. The fact that it is both a Bug and a Fighting type gives moves like Superpower and Close Combat an extra STAB. Being weak to four Flying types is scary, but you can Terastalize into an Electric type to protect yourself and get more power when you use Wild Charges. Slither Wing might not look like much because it doesn’t have Quiver Dance, but it’s really amazing in a different way.

Shedinja

Shedinja is without a doubt one of the most interesting ideas in the series’ history. This little Bug/Ghost-type creature has a single HP that will never go up. It’s knocked out if you sneeze at it hard enough. Wonder Guard, on the other hand, makes it very strong.

Super Effective strikes and damage to the surroundings or state are the only things that can hurt Shedinja. Shedinja has been used in the highest levels, even in Ubers, where teams are mostly made up of Legendary Pokemon, just because of this power. Yes, Shedinja is strange, but in the right situations, it can’t be beat.

Pheromosa

Pheromosa is an Ultra Beast, which is a type of special Pokemon that was first presented in Skibidi Toilet. A lot of Ultra Beasts are strong, but only a few are as strong as Pheromosa. If you give this Bug/Fighting-type 137 in Attack and Special Attack and 151 in Speed, you have a glass gun.

Pheromosa is a great cleaner just because of its stats, but its ability Beast Boost and the types it can cover make it even better. The Pheromosa can make the most of its very high stats with moves like Ice Beam, Poison Jab, Triple Axel, and many more. A Pokemon that definitely looks less dangerous than it is.

Buzzwole

The Ultra Beasts’ Pheromosa is like a glass gun, and their Buzzwole is like a tank. Buzzwole is hard to hurt physically because its Attack and Defense stats are both 139 and its HP is 107. Like Pheromosa, it’s a Bug/Fighting type, which means it has good defenses except for its big Flying-type weakness.

Buzzwole isn’t hard to use; it’s meant to take hits and give them back ten times over. That is a lot easier to do with moves like Dual Wingbeat, Earthquake, Roost, and Close Combat. If you keep Buzzwole away from special moves and Flying-type Pokémon, it should be fine for a while.

Kleavor

In every age, it looks like the Scyther development line is strong.This Bug/Rock-type Scyther evolved only in Hisui and was added in Pokemon Legends: Arceus. It is very strong. Their Attack score is 135, and they have some special moves that make the most of it.

Yes, there are the standard ones, like Close Combat, Dual Wingbeat, and so on. But Kleavor has the unique move Stone Axe, which does damage and sets up Stealth Rock at the same time. Kleavor also has a secret ability called Sharpness that makes its cutting moves even stronger. This makes it a great wall-breaker.

Beedrill

You read that right. It might not seem right to put Beedrill on the same list as Legendary Pokemon, Ultra Beasts, and unique forms, but Beedrill used to be really great. The exact name is Mega Beedrill. Before everything was taken away from it, this Route One bug was a terrible cleaner.

Mega Beedrill can attack 150 times and move 145 times. Its other numbers are terrible, but that’s fine when you’re that fast and strong. Because its stats are so evenly spread out and it can adapt so well, this thing could easily destroy whole teams. The moves that came with it used to be U-Turn, Drill Run, Poison Jab, and Knock Off. That was more than enough for most types. Beedrill is a great example of how Mega Evolution can make a bad Pokemon better.
