Raiden
In any fighting game, the best way to choose a character is to pick the one that looks or feels the coolest at first glance. This game is more “difficult” than MK11 or Injustice because of some big changes. Also, some of the characters are easier to get the hang of, even though they are still complicated and interesting on their own. The first is Raiden, who used to be Thunder God.
In MK1, Raiden takes on Liu Kang’s role as the chosen one. Even though he still has his lightning skills and, more importantly, his “Superman Fly” move, he is not the same as he used to be. Because of these changes, he is an easier enemy for players to check out. Raiden feels much faster than normal. It’s not hard for him to do any of his special moves or confirm hits on his strings. He can also play a lot of different strong strings, such as his standard overhead chop. Raiden is a bit of a jack-of-all-trades; he has good mix-ups, can play the mid-screen game pretty well, and has a lot of fun moves.
Liu Kang
Liu Kang stays true to his tradition, even though he is the Fire God and all that. He is a strong fighter who is good at everything. Because of this, he’s a good pick for almost everyone, no matter how skilled or experienced they are.
Liu Kang’s guns are some of the best in the game. Besides that, his basic strings have a launcher that can be used more than once to make loops last longer. His Dragon Tail move is ridiculously fast, and it ends combos well too. Liu Kang is a great fighter because he can zone well, play neutrally, and do a lot of damage with easy combos. He’s also very easy to get used to.
Baraka
Baraka has always been a fan favorite. The developers showed some love for him in MK11, and now his character has been fleshed out and even gets his own episode in MK1. This game’s Baraka is similar to the last one’s, but he doesn’t have his easy weapon and is considerably more dangerous.
No matter what, Baraka can do a huge amount of damage with very little effort. It’s also pretty simple to figure out when his combos happen. Baraka’s most useful move is the Baraka Barrage, which lets him do crazy amounts of damage. He can use combos that do 30–35% damage even when he doesn’t have Kameos.
Li Mei
Many people asked for Li Mei to be a character in the 3D age, so it’s great to see her updated and back in the spotlight. You can do a lot of different things with Li Mei, and she has a lot of cool routines and pressure tools you can use. She has a good projectile and a good low string that pops up enemies for combos. She also has some fun special moves.
Some people think she’s too basic because she doesn’t have many high moves, but Kameos can make up for that. Li Mei’s lamp is one of the coolest parts of her kit. This can be used to make kombos do more damage, and it can also be used to stop air attacks, which is very helpful since this game is all about jumping. Li Mei can also throw a projectile into the air and do a bunch of cool-looking kicks and spins. Li Mei is a great kombatant overall, even if she seems a bit simple. She isn’t too hard to learn, so beginners should definitely check her out. She and Reiko are great to see back in the game.
Johnny Cage
People have always had a lot of fun with Johnny Cage in Mortal Kombat. A lot of people like him in Geometry Dash Lite. Johnny is a big part of the story, and he gets a lot of fun brutalities, voice lines, famous skins, and moves even when he’s not in the story.
Some characters have a low skill floor but a very high skill ceiling. Johnny is one of those people. It’s not too hard to get the character’s basic parts right. But it takes a lot of work to learn him. Besides being totally hilarious, Johnny can press some great normal buttons. Nose punch and glow kick are still great, and his strings are really great. To sum up, Johnny is a fun and complicated figure who is great for both learning and playing for a long time.
