In Destiny 2, Scout Rifles are a good choice whether you’re going through Master Lost Sectors or Nightfalls.
One of the best types of weapons in the first Destiny was the Scout Rifle. It’s not like that in Destiny 2. Many changes to the game and design choices have made many people think of these guns as easy to break down.
There are some weak weapons in the guns group, but there are also some great weapons in this class that doesn’t get much attention. Most PvE content can be done safely by the right Scout, which makes these guns more desired for Master Nightfalls and other top-level tasks. In Destiny 2’s PvE world, these are the best Scout Rifles you can use.
Touch Of Malice

The Touch of Malice is a famous Exotic Scout Rifle that takes the user’s life force to power its shots. Fans of the original game will know it right away. As with all Exotics that come back, this one does the same thing in Destiny 2, but it also has an extra ability called “Charged with Blight.”
When you land precise hits with Touch of Malice, you’ll get stacks of Charged with Blight. If you hit the subject ten times in the head with this weapon, it will send out a Taken Blight that debuffs them and makes all Weapons of Sorrow, including Touch of Malice, do 50% more damage to them. Glissando-47

Instead of the Guardian Games’ Taraxippos Scout Rifle, Season of the Deep added the Glissando-47 to the world loot pool. The Glissando is a 180 RPM Strand Scout Rifle with some great features, such as the ability to rebuild and hatch. If you get a precise kill, a Threadling will appear, and you can watch close enemies explode while your gun reloads itself. It works well for special material and even Legend-level content.
However, Threadlings aren’t always a good choice. The good news is that Glissando has a lot of good qualities in the last section. One for All is a useful perk for all material, but it really shines in harder modes like GM Nightfalls. Cascade Point is something to think about if you’re using double Primary or a Special that kills adds.This perk is great for 180 RPM Scout Rifles because it greatly speeds up the gun’s firing rate to about 260 RPM. This goes well with the overflowing magazine that either Reconstruction or Overflow gives you. When you start decrypting Engrams, keep an eye out for this gun’s good roll.
Dead Man’s Tale

So far in Destiny 2, Tex Mechanica hasn’t made a bad gun.Dead Man’s Tale has the range of a Scout Rifle and the power of a 120 RPM Hand Cannon. It means that this gun is amazing for killing things from far away.
To get the gun to fire at 180 RPM, you need to make precise hits. This will speed up the reload time. If you use this weapon with a damage boost like Radiant, you can even get to Grandmaster Nightfalls with Dead Man’s Tale. You won’t find a better PvE exotic than Dead Man’s Tale, but if you want to beat harder tasks with style, it’s hard to beat.
Skyburner’s Oath

Skyburner’s Oath is great for Solar builds that want to Scorch targets, but it’s not the best Scout Rifle for killing adds. If you hip-fire slug rounds at something, they do a little Scorch damage. This is the best part of Skyburner’s Oath. For Solar subclasses, this really shines when you think about the Scorch stacks alone. They won’t do much damage or even trigger an Ignite.
Titans can easily make Sunspots with Skyburner’s Oath, which makes Sol Invictus easier to use and clears up adds in general. Warslocks can use this to make up for Incinerating Snap missiles they missed, which makes it easy to ignite. Hunters can start an Ignition right away by hitting an enemy with Skyburners before they use the Weighted Throwing Knife. Even though Skyburners isn’t a great Scout Rifle, this is the best gun for people who love Solar.
Transfiguration

Transfiguration has a great perk pool and is a 150 RPM Kinetic Scout Rifle. Since Season of the Deep’s perk update, this gun can now roll a lot of different combinations of double damage perks. These go beyond the famous Rampage and Kill Clip combo from Forsaken. There is still that roll here, but you have more choices now.
Kinetic Tremors and Rampage make a great pair that you should look for. But Rampage doesn’t improve the shaking effect. Instead, it makes it easier to kill red bars from far away. You can then use Kinetic Tremors to get rid of orange bars. This gun is great for Legend-level material. You can switch out Rampage for Demolitionist or Rewind Rounds if you want more useful cards. Don’t like Kinetic Tremors? Try Explosive Payload for quick Champion stuns or Adrenaline Junkie for a great weapon that focuses on grenades. There are so many good perk combinations for this gun that it’s hard to pick just one. If you can make this gun, you should try different combinations of perks to find the best one for you.
Tarnished Mettle

For years, Night Watch has been the best Scout Rifle, but in recent seasons, some more powerful weapons have taken its place. All of them are good, but Tarnished Mettle is the best. It’s a 200 RPM Arc Scout Rifle with some ridiculously good perk combinations.
As with Night Watch, Tarnished Mettle has the standard Rapid Hit and Explosive Payload roll, but it also has a lot more to offer. Voltshot is the best perk for this gun. It works like a “Jolt Clip,” making your next shot after reloading apply Jolt, an Arc 3.0 effect that makes enemies chain lightning to nearby targets when they take ongoing damage. When you pair Voltshot with Demolitionist, you can get a lot of grenades and a clear that would make Trinity Ghoul happy.
Staccato-46

The Staccato-46 is a Solar 180 RPM Scout Rifle that is very easy to use. It works well with Triple Tap and Focused Fury for most PvE material, getting through red bars and majors without much trouble. Explosive Payload could be used instead of Focused Fury if you need a way to beat Champions.
Incandescent is one of the coolest bonuses on Staccato-46. When you make a final blow, it burns close enemies. It’s much easier to kill groups of enemies with the Scorch because it works well with Solar 3.0 and does good damage. You can also use it instead of Skyburner’s Oath if you want to focus on Scorch stacks but don’t want to give up your Exotic slot. Watch out for a good roll.
Hung Jury SR4

The Hung Jury is back in Season of Defiance, and this time the perk pool has been cleared out. Explosive Payload was taken out of the second perk column and replaced with Kinetic Tremors, a perk that can only be used with Kinetic that sends out shockwaves when you make consecutive hits. Being able to use this damage perk is pretty simple and does a lot of damage, which makes it great for casual content.
If you use Scout Rifles for tougher tasks, you can’t go wrong with Frenzy or even Firefly when fighting smaller enemies. There are also good ways to reload this gun, like “Shoot to Loot” for safe ammunition grabs. Kinetic Tremors can also help you get Shoot to Loot, which makes this a great all-around PvE ability. The Hung Jury can do pretty well in Snake Game, but it won’t be able to destroy Champions or kill bosses in a flash.
Polaris Lance

Like in Symmetry, the change to final enemies that are tougher has given Polaris Lance a place in this sandbox. If you chain hits with the Polaris Lance, explosions will happen. This makes the weapon very powerful for both damage and cleaning. With its Catalyst that gives Dragonfly, Polaris Lance makes it surprisingly easy to get rid of crowds of enemies. Not much more to say. It hits hard, works at all ranges, and can clear out groups of enemies that are close together. That’s all a Scout Rifle should do.
Doom Of Chelchis

The perk pool for Doom of Chelchis is the best of any Legendary Primary in Destiny 2, even the ones that use sunset weapons. As of right now, only three weapons—Transfiguration, Techeun Force, and Fatebringer—can roll with double damage perks. This is a very rare combo. Also, unlike the other guns we just talked about, this one can be made.
When you hit an enemy in the head with Firefly or Dragonfly, they turn into a tiny bomb and explode in two places, killing almost all of the close fodder enemies right away. If you want something that always works, try Explosive Payload with either One for All or Dragonfly. Also, try Volar Weapon with Frenzy if you want to kill Champions fast. We’ve seen the most stacked perk pool in Destiny 2 on this weapon. Doom of Chelchis is also very easy to shoot thanks to its base stats. There is no better Scout Rifle in Destiny 2 than this one. Plus, Doom of Chelchis is a great main for PvE if that’s all you want.
